Kisumu Social Rights Association (KISORA)

Kisumu Social Rights Association (KISORA) is a community-based human rights network  founded in 2007.  Its aim is to fight against all forms of human rights violations.  The organization is registered by Kisumu District Social Services.

Goal

To build a constituency of  community-based groups in Kisumu in pursuit of grassroots empowerment, economic justice, democratic development and gender equality for a just and peaceful Kenya.

Mission/Objective

To organize residents of the people’s settlements (slums) to increase their participation in development by facilitating processes that are non-discriminatory, non-partisan, accessible, affordable, and promote the organizational structure of marginalized communities so that they can live a life of dignity and better their livelihoods.
